Parr Graffiti Art Class

There was a buzz of excitement in Parr as teenagers and young people, flocked to our Graffiti Art Class to learn how to sketch, draw and paint. They have been inspired by the amazing graffiti art murals across the Parr area delivered by artists from across the country.

The graffiti art class attendees learnt the difference between graffiti art vs vandalism and the history of graffiti art through our introductions to the art.

The second part of this class is to learn lettering, shading, designs and styles, (i.e. tags, throw-ups and wildstyle)

Teenagers and young people could theme their graffiti art mural on words, phrase or characters that mean somthing to them.

Everyone had a brilliant time learning from our teacher ‘Kingsyze Graffiti Art’, making new friends and hnaging out with other.

All twenty young people said that they would like to attend regular graffiti art classes in the area, as there are no activities like this available for them.

The Community Foundation for Merseyside and Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership funded the young people’s workshops to provide everyone with the opportunity to get involved.

The aim of our Hip Hop Shield Project is to provide activities to engage young people in diversionary activities away from crime/anti-social behaviour or avoid being a victim of crime/anti-social behaviour by attending safe youth activities.
